The Arts Carleton Place Annual General Meeting is on Monday, November 30 at 7 p.m. at the Thirsty Moose, upstairs room. A busy year has gone by and we are looking forward to 2010. All are welcome to attend.
On the music scene: Thursday night jazz, 7-10 p.m. at St. James Gate Pub features Peter Brown, Don Paterson and friends. Live at the Gate on Saturday nights, 8-10 p.m. features acoustic music: November 14: Kirk and Kurtis Armstrong, November 21: Kerrek, November 28: The Night Crawlers. A new venue has just started at Ballygiblin's Sunday evenings, 8 -11 p.m. with Peter Brown, Roger Plant and friends. For Celtic music fans, drop in to Ballygiblin's on Wednesday, November 18, 7.30-10.30 p.m. or at the Carleton Heritage Inn on November 25. These are jams and all ages and levels are welcome.
There is a Holiday Sensation at the Train Station on Sunday, December 6, noon to 4 p.m. The former daycare centre has been transformed into the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Centre Gift Shop & Gallery. Arts Carleton Place co-ordinates the gallery space for the database artists to showcase their works. The Yoga Station, a new business, has established a presence with their studio and art gallery. Paul Nelson has combined his businesses to create Service Central for your entire camera and photography needs. Drop in for your Christmas shopping, enjoy cookies and sweets, hot apple cider and get in the holiday spirit! Bring your family, neighbours and friends!
On a final note, please support our local artistic community by attending live theatre, holiday concerts, listening to fabulous music and purchasing original art. Carleton Place and the surrounding area is so fortunate to have such a talented mix of artists, writers and performers.
