The third "Sounds of Downtown" , our annual fundraiser took place on Saturday, September 6. Twelve restaurants and businesses participated this year. Michael Kaeshammer, piano player extraordinaire was the featured headliner. Patrons had a great evening experiencing and supporting the arts. The BIA was our co-sponsor for the first time. Hopefully, this will continue so that Arts Carleton Place can programme high quality entertainment. Monies raised go towards the Awards Programme for students and artists in our community.After a successful "Sounds of Downtown" fundraiser in September, Arts Carleton Place presented the 2008 Bursary Awards to the following: students Lauren Leblanc, Andrew Dixon, Arts Carleton Place Chair Ina Jackson, Emerging Artist Award winner Lindsay Fry, students Nathan Flint, Jessie Bonnah, Arts Carleton Place Awards Committee member Chris MacLachlan. Congratulations to all!
