Artists Needed!

We are looking for artists who would be interested in volunteering to work with groups of up to 30 students, using their art form, to send out a message about human rights. The project could involve a single workshop or several encounters with students over the next few months.

Every art form is invited to participate. For example, a dancer could work with students to develop choreography to interpret a challenge related to the unity of humanity. A musician could work with youth to write a song about how to bring unity to the globe, or their community. A glass artist, or potter, could develop a mural with glass, or clay figures, representing the diversity of the worlds people...the writer: a poem...the photographer: a storyboard...the dramatist: a play...the possibilities are endless!

We have 13 schools in Almonte, Beckwith and Carleton Place, and we would love to see 2 or 3 artists at each school (artists can work in pairs if you wish).

The product would be presented to students in their school, and other local schools, during the human rights day celebration on Thursday, March 2nd, 2006.
