I have been in the computer IT world for most of my working life but I have always enjoyed taking pictures. This is one of my favourite pastimes and with the advent of digital photography it has given me a great chance to expand my photographic knowledge. I have been for the most part self-taught but I had quite a bit of help as a kid growing up as my father was a photographer for the Geological Survey.

There is nothing better than on a stressful day but to go out on a nature trail and look for birds, deer or whatever little critter happens around. Often the best shots are the fun shots. In and around Carleton Place I have had many opportunities to shoot some great bird pics, soccer, canoeing and even one year, power boating. Even on some lunch breaks I will head out to a nature trail to see if there is anything of interest. It is a rare occurrence to go anywhere without my camera.
