I have been hooked on music since my grandfather shoved a violin at me when I was three. At age 8, formal violin lessons began. I chose to play the alto sax in high school because it was completely different from the violin. My first paying gig was in high school in a band called 'Fred'. I played violin in the International Symphony Orchestra (Sarnia, ON) and The University of Guelph Symphony.

I played in numerous Community Bands across the country, took two years of music performance in Saxophone at the University of Calgary and had the pleasure of participating in a master class with Paul Brodie. I have recently studied fiddle with Pierre Schryer, Patrick Ourceau, Maire Breatnach and Cynthia MacLeod.

I am a former teacher of High School Science and Music at Bishop's College School and was director of the choir there for two years and the Junior Band for eleven years.

Since moving to the area 5 years ago, I have participated in performances of Handel's Messiah, Mendelssohn's Elijah in Perth and The Ottawa Chamber Music Society's annual Brandenburg events, The Rocky Horror Show and Cabaret with the Orion Theatre Company. Currently I play fiddle with Burnt Haggis Celtic Band, Tenor Sax with Memphis Mafia, and Alto Sax and Fiddle with The Backburners. I also perform in duets and trios at local businesses and private events.

From my home in Carleton Place, I teach violin/fiddle, saxophone and beginner band instruments and also tune pianos in the surrounding area.
