Tracy Lamb
A member of the Arts Carleton Place Artist Database
Born in Zimbabwe, Tracy grew up here in Carleton Place, and left in 1979 to begin a journey into the world of design, creative direction, then marketing communications. With a passion for travel, Tracy has visited many places over the years that have inspired her love of photography. With a focus on people and places, her work abroad has included: South Africa, Japan, Greece, Vienna, Arizona, California, Tofino and the rest of Canada - east and west. Tracy has a love of Carleton Place, which has resulted in a growing library of hundreds of photos of our community, many of which can be seen on the Town website (carletonplace.ca) and in the Information / Visitor Guide (available at the CP Information Centre, Gallery & Gift Shop in the old train station).
Tracy is the owner of Mopani Communications Inc, a marketing communications agency specializing in the areas of agri-food and wellness. She has spent countless hours on Canadian farms, camera in hand, shooting in fields and barns from coast to coast. People and food are favourite subjects of Tracy's, which is a perfect fit with the work she does for Farmers' Markets Ontario - supporting farmers and local food enthusiasts across Ontario, and photographing the food and the interactions that are unique to farmers' markets.
When asked what motivates her to do photography, Tracy states ; "I love capturing an image that reflects the spirit of special moment in time and can be enjoyed and shared by others. It could be a wedding, a family photo, kids at play or a luscious basket of strawberries at the market - or better yet, capturing a moment where someone is enjoying those strawberries. My take on life -- Live out loud . . . and don’t forget your camera ! "
