Arts Carleton Place (artscarletonplace.com)

Intrigued with the arts throughout my life, having always enjoyed writing, drawing, sculpture, and painting, I began focusing on painting about fifteen years ago.

There has been no specialization in my art, no protracted focus of study on any specific theory or element of design. I experience moments of becoming intense upon a certain style, but am aware not to allow it to over-influence my work. A specific inspiration has been the mythologies and artistic traditions of native peoples, especially of the North West Coast, Cree, and Ojibway. Unique in their form, I find this art grounding and liberating.

Technically, I am a self-taught artist working mainly in Acrylic, Oil, and Ink painting. I have been involved with a limited number of exhibitions, having begun showing my art in 2000. I have been, however, quite happy with the overall response from people to my art.

I share my life with my beautifully supportive wife Kim, and we reside in the rural area of Lombardy, Ontario.

The future of my art resides in the never-ending exploration of possibilities, and tapping into the cumulative impressions from the apparent and unapparent. I hope to create original art which engages and inspires.
