Shirley Sheinfield was born in Carleton Place many years ago and has always lived here. She has painted in oils for over thirty years. At one time she organized painting classes in the Carleton Place High School art room on winter Thursday nights and among the teachers were wonderful Mary Dodge and Riva Dology. She has attended classes at Bridgewater Retreat near Tweed, classes in Brockville, and many years at Nepean Visual Center (also model for a portrait class). Her subjects include landscapes, buildings, animals, and flowers "which are the love of her life"). She is a member of the Almonte and Area Artist Association. She has shown her working the Almonte and Carleton Place Library corridors. As a senor citizen she is still active in the arts.
