Rose Wilson

Rose Wilson was born in Perth, Ontario and has always had a passion for art. This self-taught wildlife and portrait artist finds that capturing the many aspects of nature and the people around her is a most satisfying experience. She has traveled extensively in Canada and parts of the U.S. and is always excited about the beauty that surrounds her... as it is all inspiration for her art. In her travels, when she doesn't have the time to paint, she carries her camera to capture reference material. Rose has been fortunate enough to have lived in Western Canada, Eastern Ontario, and on the East Coast of Canada and has welcomed the many cultural diversities she has experienced. Her exposure to such a variety of life experiences has made hery art what it is today.She enjoys working in acrylics, pencil, watercolors, pen and ink, foremost, but also utilizes other media to acquire the effect she is trying to portray. This award-winning artist has several paintings and drawings in private collections across Canada, the U.S., Turkey and Australia. Rose displays her artwork at several galleries and private venues in and around Eastern Ontario. She welcomes commissions.
As a well-known former member of Cape Breton Artists Association and a current member of Rideau Lakes Artists' Association and the Arts Carleton Place database, Rose has displayed her paintings in several group, solo and juried shows.
Rose resides near her hometown with her husband and grandson. Rose has worked in the architectural signage, sign painting, graphic design, specialty advertising, commercial design and publishing industries. She now enjoys working as an artist and graphic designer on a full time basis.
