Arts Carleton Place (artscarletonplace.com)

I first began to paint occasionally when I was in my twenties, when my daughters were eight and ten years old. In those years, my efforts went into running a household and raising my children, and I did not begin to paint seriously until I was in my forties.

I have no formal training in art, only a lifetime of living, observing and, of course, painting. My favorite subject is abstract art; when I paint, I reject outside input, preferring to let my unconscious self take command. I proceed until my conscious self is satisfied with the shapes, forms, textures and design of my canvasses; only then do I name and sign my work.
