Arts Carleton Place (artscarletonplace.com)

Two years ago I did a painting of my Italian Greyhound, Rupert...let me tell you, this was my "AHA!" moment. I started Doodle Dog Pet Paintings and haven't looked back! Taking inspiration from clients' favorite photographs of their pets, I create fresh, fun and funky hand painted portraits. Doodle Dog perfectly mixes my passion for painting, interior design and of course pets! Please visit www.doodledogpaintings.com to see what I do! I also arrange appointments for clients to come to my in home studio to discuss projects and invite them to bring their pets!

Born in 1975, I moved from my prairie birthplace in Ste. Anne , Manitoba to Carleton Place, Ontario in 1985. Being the daughter of two artists, my interest and exposure to fine arts was as commonplace as getting up in the morning. I know that making art is as necessary to me as the air that I breathe, so there has never been any question about my dedication to creativity.

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours with a major in silkscreening from Queen's University, Kingston in 1997. I then completed the 2 year Heritage Carpentry and Millwork program from Algonquin's Perth campus in 2000. From acrylic painting to drafting floor plans, expressing myself artistically is when my soul is most awake.

Without art and pets in my life I would surely shrivel up and die!!!
