Born and raised in Edmonton, Kate has been creating art from an early age. She studied water colour painting and ceramics in her teens, and later, fashion design in Montreal.

She has worked as a milliner creating "hat art" and making hats for the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton and as an art instructor teaching ceramics and papier mache to children.

Kate's medium of choice now is papier mache.
