I am an Ottawa Valley Girl, born in Ottawa and spent the most wonderful summers on the Mississippi Lake. My Mother did beautiful embroidery work and knitting and I guess that is were my creative side came from, also my love of animals, birds and flowers. I have painted all my life and have taken classes with many international teachers. My first love is oils and was the first medium that I used. I now work with oils, watercolours, acrylics, coloured and watercolour pencils. I am new to coloured pencils and I am still learning and trying new techniques with them. Lately I have been working with mixed media and I am enjoying the freedom and versatility that this has allowed me to have. I have been using watercoloured backgrounds with acrylic foregrounds and pencils for all the detailing. I can achieve many different textures and colours working this way. I work on all kinds of surfaces canvas, paper, tin, wood and glass, almost anything that stands still long enough.
