I was raised in the Lower Laurentians, QC and spent much of my adult life in the scientific world. In 2005, I decided to pursue my first love - art.I have always enjoyed looking at the world through my hands as well as my eyes - textures draw me in. Objects or beings in nature are most often my source of inspiration - what I see and what I imagine could be. Some images are realistic and some only exist inside my head.
Working predominantly with layers of threads and fibres, both shading and padding are used to create dimensionality. Often a pencil sketch is the beginning and then evolves into an expression in fibre.
I hope to create tactile art which causes emotions in the viewer (joy, melancholy, puzzlement...) as well as a strong pull to touch.
