I've been taking 'holiday' photos and building stories of our vacations but in the last 4 years have experienced a whole new freedom with a digital camera. I wanted a new hobby that didn't require waking up before dawn. Well, I chose poorly as I've been bitten by the photography bug. I've always been a keen nature buff, but I've learned to see the world in a different light including turning my eye to the 'tiny world'. I find my best photos express contrasts: colour or texture. I'm still exploring and learning though. Animals, macro and flowers play a big role and I will be turning my eye to landscapes and using light more effectively. I love to travel, experience cultures and their food in particular. With regard to my photography, it's also a completely new source of subjects and opportunities.
