Wife, mother and happily a new great grandmother. I am a self taught artist. Residing in the Ottawa Valley. My interest in painting started at the age of 50, I decided to mid life my way into painting. Painting in both oils and acrylics, finding a passion that is proving to be unmatched to any other type of craft I have done before. As my paintings develop into a work of art, it seems to come alive, through a sparkle of an eye, colour of a sunset or the rolling of a wave, the art pops to life. Landscapes, I am leaning towards although I have done some portraits and many different animals and have been very successful. Several of my paintings have been commissioned works. But by far my greatest joy is in presenting these labours of love and hearing the feed back. Historically: My grandfather was an artist in oils. It is my understanding he had the opportunity to occasionally paint with the "group of seven". One of his daughters, my Aunt Verna Conell, also was an accomplished artist. I am hoping their talent has been passed along to me.For more information, email mudpuppyshadow@hotmail.com
