In 2010 I spent a wonderful week at Canadore College in North Bay taking a Water Colour course from Arlie Hoffman. There were a few lessons, lots of give and take, some wonderful chatter and a couple of plays to
see in the evenings. It was nice rubbing shoulders with the other artists, they seemed to get better as you worked your way to the back of the classroom. I was sat at the front! Later in the year I went on a calligraphy retreat at the Galile Centre in Arnprior organised by Doris Wionzek and a few of her pals from the Calligraphy Society of Ottawa. Workshops included tiles with Chandler Swain and giant letters with Roberta Huebener. In the evenings we watched the odd slide show, played guitar or chatted away over a snack, or two..
For one week in November I had an exhibit of my wire sculptures at the Old Train Station where I worked on the Murmansk Sailor. The poor old chap is still waiting for a pair of legs!
The Barley Shakers Celtic Band 2010 highlight was playing at the National Archives for the Rose of Tralee fundraiser. Prior to that we'd played nearly every Seniors home this side of the Mississippi. We still jam the odd Wednesday Night at the Ballygiblin Pub..
