Born and raised in British Columbia, I discovered darkroom when I was in grade 6, acquired an old Kodak, with 110 film and flash bulbs. I photographed anything and everything, and finished a roll of film as quickly as possible. At that time, the subjects of my pictures were not important; I couldn't wait to get into the darkroom and watch the real magic begin. Through High School I took every art class that was offered, and spent as many lunch hours in the dark room as possible. After High School came enrolment in the Fine Art Program at Caribou College. My first summer of College was spent in Banff, Alberta, where I bought my first darkroom and I never looked back.Shortly after Janice and Michael Bowie opened Lux Photographic in Carleton Place, I started reviving my darkroom passions, and very slowly transitioned over to digital (kicking and screaming all the way!). However, I grew to love the versatility of digital. I was very fortunate to study under Michael for a number of years until his return to teaching at Algonquin College. I continued my digital learning with Janice and became Lux's primary studio photographer. My love affair with black and white images continues, whether they are born from digital or darkroom. Both have a place in Picture It studio.,br>
Newly opened, Picture It studio will offer portraits, groups, business, events, and product imaging. Colour or black & white!!
