Brenda Wright
A member of the Arts Carleton Place Artist Database
Brenda, born and raised in rural Lanark County, now lives near the beautiful and historic town of Perth ('upon Tay') where recently she opened a home art studio, called "Oak Lane Studio" located at 112 Oak Lane, (2 km. E on Hwy 7, take Wayside Dr. to Oak Lane). You are welcome to visit the studio (by appointment) and find out about the various activities she shares with fellow artists.Brenda has taken several arts courses through 'Algonquin' and 'St. Lawrence' colleges, and also various workshops from local artists in the community. Since her retirement ten years ago, Brenda has worked consistently, developing her talent and improving her painting skills. "Painting is silent poetry," (unknown quote) captures her heart for this wondrously creative activity. Brenda states, "the painters' instinct has always been strong within me, but it wasn't until mid-life that I found the time to test this inner prompting. It is amazing to produce a beautiful piece and discover the 'vision' that finds expression when paint is applied to paper."
Brenda works mainly in watercolour, however, has done some painting in acrylics. She is eager to try new techniques and is open to learning other mediums. She likens the painting process to a journey; one she has enjoyed every step of the way! Your encouragement and feedback are welcomed by her.
