Poetry and Pot Luck
Posted January 8, 2010 under Artist Activities
Do you need an excellent reason to leave the house? Have you been cocooning and waiting for spring these past snowy days?
Mark your calendar then, for Tuesday, January 12th and the Poetry and Potluck show with featured artist Brendan McLeod, and special guests, Ottawa's brilliant slam poetry team, The Recipe. If you have not yet checked out a spoken word show and are still wondering about the art form that has taken Lanark County by storm, then take a chance and come be a part of an amazing night of oral tradition and tasty food.
Brendan McLeod has been Vancouver's SLAM poetry Champion, the Canadian SLAM poetry champion, and finished second at the 2005 World SLAM championships, held in Holland. As a novelist, he beat out over 500 original entries to win the 2006 International 3 Day Novel Contest for his book, "The Convictions of Leonard McKinley". He has performed all over the world, at over 200 poetry readings, and is a touring member of The Fugitives spoken word and music troupe. He has an MA in Philosophy from the University of Waterloo.
