In celebration of National Poetry Month, Arts Carleton Place and Read's Bookshop hosted the first ever poetry slam in Carleton Place. This event included the National Poetry Collective from Ottawa as well as poets from the local area. The evening started with an open mic where our own Carol A Stephen, local writer Carolyn Ciccoritti as well as other newcomers to the slam scene took the stage. The evening was rounded out by some inspiring poetry by members of the collective.
