A Great Success! Yesterday, we held another sign-up session for the Artist Database. Some amazing artists came out to sign up. We are currently working on getting their information up on the Artist Database.

Meeting some local artists was an incredible experience, since they hold so much hope for our future. Without the support of our local community and it's artists, Arts Carleton Place would not be able to exist. Thank-you to those who came out.

If you are an area artist, and you are still interested in getting on our database please contact us.

On the weekend Rivka Waas came to sign-up for the Artist's Database. If you would like to see more of her great paintings you can do it at two locations in Carleton Place. Viewing the artwork and meeting the Artist
Wow! What an amazing night. We had our Open House last night and many people came out to hear about our group. Craig Angus talked about the "Power of the Arts" and outlined our Strategic Plan for the audience. Amy Lenser-Twolan's presentation focussed on the launch of our web-site and gave a tour of our current activities and our online database. Some local artists (Victoria Jenkins, Craig Angus, Kellie Oliphant-Burns, Sherry Tompalski, and Susan Fisher) lent us pieces of their work that made for a wonderful display.

After our presentation, we invited the audience to sign-up for different areas of interest and the online artist's database while we enjoyed some delectable desserts and refreshments. Overall, the evening was a success! We discovered that the people of Carleton Place and the surrounding areas are quite interested in expressing their artistic voices. The people who came to the Open House gave us an uplifting feeling from their positive attitude and supportive response. We send out our thanks to those who came and invite those who couldn't come to please let us know if you are interested in being a part of Arts Carleton Place.

Below are a few pictures taken during the Open House. Click each thumbnail for a larger version of each picture.
